Daily Schedule

A look at my typical day:

6:30am Wake up to some combination of my alarm, sunlight drifting through the window, and the sound of birds.
6:35am – 7:05am Yoga. It’s tough to really get into it without an experienced leader or a class, but I’m slowly piecing together a pretty good routine. I’m hoping to start adding in some pre-yoga running, but we’ll see how that goes
7:05am – 7:15am Shower (when necessary ;-) ).
7:15am – 7:45am Walk over to the “classroom” – an empty room with a whiteboard where we hold our classes and work – and check e-mail / upload pictures / finish daily assignments.
7:45am – 8:30am Breakfast with other students and researchers.
8:45am – 1pm Field work!
1pm – 2pm Lunch with other students and researchers.
2pm – 4/5pm Short lecture, followed by small group discussion (aka the three students and one teacher).
4/5pm to 7:30pm Reading / blogging / sleeping / e-mailing / talking
7:30pm to 8:30pm Dinner
8:30pm to 10pm Reading and assignments
10pm to 10:30pm Lights out. Finish some work, prepare for bed, play some ukulele, unravel the mosquito net.
10:30pm Sleep

There is some variation in the daily schedule – for example, last night we went for “sundowners” – drinks and conversation on an incredibly scenic rock with a 360 degree panorama – before dinner. Sometimes work lasts past 10:30, or requires a wake-up at 6, but not too often.
